Philosophy
Over the last 2 decades of working with a variety of individuals I have been able to develop of a philosophy of training that is functional, specific, researched based and safe. Functional training promotes mobility, which refers to the ability to move efficiently and safely in daily activities.
By incorporating exercises that challenge balance, stability, strength and flexibility, it helps improve overall body control and reduces the risk of injury. This dynamic and effective approach to exercise focuses on movements that mimic real-life activities. It offers the benefits of multi-joint movements, adaptability and improved functional mobility.
At Strongbridge Strength the little things matter to us. Every detail is taken into consideration when developing a plan for you. Not just rep range, volume or load but the things they may not be front and center like big toe range of motion or grip strength. All these things matter and are incorporated into the program.
FAQs
What type of training does Strongbridge Strength offer?
Real personal training needs to be personalized. It may sound obvious but this is not always the case in many training centers around the nation. More often than not you are in a large class all doing the exact same circuit written up by someone who switched careers because they are into being healthy. Under qualified and over enthusiastic about pushing their clients to the limit they leave them injured and worse off with a bad taste in their mouth about personal trainers and coaches in general. While this might be ok for the 16-28 year old with no history of injury this is not going to end well for the average person. Often many people start off well only to be visiting their physical therapist months later.
At SB Strength we max out at 3 clients per session. We are not willing to compromise exercise form to make an extra buck by adding more and more into a class. What sets us apart is attention to detail. By offering personal training and semi-private training we can really focus on the individual. Even when in a semi-private session you are doing your own prearranged program that’s different from your workout partner. We do initial assessments and constantly monitor progress tracking BF %, Muscle mass, HR, BP, VO2 Max, strength testing, grip strength, vertical etc etc. We use various functional exercises modalities like cables, bands, stability balls, kettlebells, weights and so much more to give you the most well rounded and safe session.
What does an average session look like?
To start there is no average session and each one looks a little different depending on what programmed phase you may be in. You could be coming off PT or training for some sport specific activity. In general the flow of the session will be this…
Warm up on bike, foam roll, dynamic stretching, band activation, agility/plyo, core, compound movements, interval cardio and static stretch.
How many times a week can I come?
We require each member to come a minimum number of 4 times a month. Averaging out once per week. You can add as many sessions each month as you like after that. When you become a member you own a day and time each week that is yours alone. This keeps you on pace to reach your goals and accountable to stick to the program that changes as we move forward. We understand that some weeks require flexibility and we will certainly work with you to adapt.
What happens beyond the session?
At SB Strength we take a wholistic approach. It’s not just about your training sessions at the building. We want to take a look at sleep patterns, nutrition, cardiovascular health, stress levels etc etc. All of these along with training will impact how you feel and move forward with your wellness goals. Our monthly and quarterly assessments will allow us to keep you accountable and plan for a way forward.
“I can't recommend Zach highly enough! I have trained with him for years and he is incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, personable, and engaging. The way Zach follows up with all of his clients and motivates them day in and day out is impressive. Anyone who gets to work with him is very lucky - don't miss your chance!”
